Stress! We all face it, but how do we minimise it?

Stress can be defined as the degree to which you feel overwhelmed. It is our body’s response to pressure from situations or life events. It is when our body produces cortisol and adrenaline, designed for ‘fight or flight’ situations as opposed to our happy hormones like endorphins and oxytocin.

Yes, we’ve all been there – however stats show that a staggering 74% of UK adults have felt so stressed at some point over the last year that they felt so overwhelmed that they couldn’t cope.

This paired with an unstable economy, crazy working hours, and uncertain plans for our future is bound to make us all feel more stressed than usual.

For National Stress Awareness Day, we have got our heads together to come up with some hints and tips to help you get through the day a little easier and rest assured knowing that you are not alone!

  • Enjoy family time and make sure you have a day off. There are so many lovely café’s and hideaways on the Wirral. We highly recommend a trip to Church Farm, and if Yoga is your thing they have a calming class that is sure to melt away your stress and worries.
